Money Network® Frequently Asked Questions

Below are some general frequently asked questions. For additional or specific information about your program, please refer to the material in your Welcome Packet, including the FAQ section in your Quick Start Guide.


Will I get a new Money Network® Card and Money Network™ Checks each time I get paid or receive funds?

No. Your funds will be added to the Account tied to the Card and Checks you were given. If you run out of Checks, you can re-order more at no charge.

Is there a cost to use the Money Network® Service?

While Money Network does provide many services and types of transactions free of charge, there are some activities that may incur a fee. Please refer to the fee schedule in the Welcome Packet you received with your Money Network Card and Money Network Checks.

I recently upgraded my Card and now it isn’t working. Why?

As part of the upgrade process, Money Network is required by the USA PATRIOT Act to verify your identity. If we are unable to do so your Card will be placed on hold. For more information, watch the video below.

Where can I use my Money Network Card?

You can use the Money Network Card at virtually any ATM and wherever the network displayed on your Card (Visa®, MasterCard®, Discover® or STAR®) is accepted.

Can I withdraw cash from ATMs?

Yes, you can use your Card to withdraw cash from ATMs. Some types of ATMs withdrawals may be surcharge-free or even completely free of charge when you use “in-network ATMs” such as those in the Allpoint Network – read your Fee Schedule and Transaction Limits for more information. To find an Allpoint Network ATM near you click on “Locate ATMs and more” on the Money Network website.

What if my Money Network Card is lost or stolen?

Click here for more information on how to request a replacement Card (see your fee schedule as a replacement Card fee may apply). If you need immediate access to your funds while you wait for your replacement Card to arrive, just follow the instructions to write a Money Network™ Check in your name and cash it for free at participating locations.

Can I use a PIN of my own choice?

Yes. You can use any four-digit number you choose.

What should I do if I forget my PIN?

Call the Customer Service number on the back of your Card. Follow the menu prompts to create a new PIN. Your new PIN will be active immediately.

How much can I withdraw at a time?

Daily limits for withdrawals and transactions are listed in the Welcome Packet you received with your Money Network Card and Money Network Checks.

What are the Money Network® Checks and how do I use them?

You can use Money Network Checks like personal checks to pay bills or friends and family. To learn more about Money Network Checks and how to use them, watch the video below.

What happens if I don’t spend all my funds available in my Money Network Account?

Any amount that is not spent will remain available to you until you spend it. Log in online or call the Customer Service number on the back of your Card at any time to access your Account balance information.

How will I know my balance or when funds have been added to my Money Network Account?

There are three easy ways to access your Account balance information and transaction history:

  • Via balance alerts: The best way to keep track of your balance is to sign up for automatic balance alerts at moneynetwork.com—simply log in to your Account and select the BALANCE NOTIFICATIONS option.
  • Online: You can view your balance and transaction history online, at any time.
  • By phone (automated system): call the toll free number on the back of your Card to hear your balance and transaction history.

What is a preauthorization and can I prevent it from happening?

A preauthorization is a temporary hold on a specific amount of your available balance and is used by merchants when authorizing electronic transactions.

WHAT SHOULD I DO IF I DON’T RECOGNIZE THE MERCHANT OR THE AMOUNT FOR ONE OF MY RECENT TRANSACTIONS?

If you don’t recognize a transaction in your recent history, you can dispute the charge by calling the Customer Service number on the back of your Card.

Can my employer or the organization that offered me the Money Network Service get reports on my spending activity?

No. All of your transactions are private and only you can see your transaction and spend information.

What happens when I leave my organization?

If you signed up for the Money Network Service through an employer, your final pay from that employer will be deposited to your Card. The Account will stay active as long as you have funds available; you can continue to you use your Card until your Account balance is zero.

If you have upgraded your Card, you can continue to use it in several ways: you can enroll it with a new employer to receive your pay, you can get your tax refund deposited directly and more.
